New work, part of a brand new series, that I’m delighted with.
Did I say delighted? I did. I’m not normally the biggest die hard fan of my own work. I’ve talked with some other artists and this feeling is not unusual. Not to say I hate my own work, I’m pretty happy with it generally speaking. But, at the same time, I’m happy to get the pieces out and usually can pretty immediately find flaws in what else I could have improved. Again, this is a bit of a theme with some artists.
For this new series however, I’m having fun. This piece is the first in a brand new series of works that I’m calling ‘Creep Blossoms.’ I started most of these in one afternoon and couldn’t stop until I had made about a dozen. I seem to be adding more every day and they are a very soothing meditative group to work on- exploring the nuance of the face, color and texture. I hope you dig them too, look for many more (and maybe even a print release at some point) in the future. Enjoy Creep Blossom #1: “Jeremy.”
