Number two is now online!

by ncwinters on October 11, 2010

…a new piece as part of 100 Drawings.

The next drawing is now up for “100 Drawings”- my attempt to both keep myself drawing and finish up some older unfinished work, that literally is stacked around the studio. It’s easy to start a new drawing, but so difficult to finish, but that’s where the “professional” part of “professional artist” comes into play. Not that that’s all it takes. Nor am I implying that I am in any way “professional”, or for that matter– You know what, I’m just gonna stop right there. As usual, this piece is now available in the store, more soon to follow. Enjoy the drawing, hope to have #3 up soon!

100 Drawings: a new project, a new batch of art…

by ncwinters on October 7, 2010

…for your viewing and purchasing pleasure.

So I’ve started a new project. I’ll be working on new drawings nonstop to try and get at least one new drawing up a week in my online shop. This arises as not only an exercise in keeping myself drawing and making the time to do so, but also as a way to try and accumulate 100 new drawings over the next year or so. The goal is to eventually compile them into a book for purchase, though I may also release each drawing as a limited print. I’ll have to await your feedback.

#1 of 100 Drawings

This drawing was started last year (you may remember this post) and I just finished up a few spots that needed some tightening. I had a lot of fun working on it at the time and thought it was an appropriate beginning as an attempt to get back to drawing for joy’s sake, instead of constantly working on something for a client, show or commission.

Many more uploads soon, keep an eye on the blog and the store!

*Edit* I’ve added a new section which will house the 100 Drawings. Check it out here.

Our little dude…

by ncwinters on October 4, 2010

…one year in review.

So Ginger had this wild hair to compile many of the photos and videos we’ve taken of Jackson’s first year into one video clip. While that sounded fun and exciting, it turned out to be a ton of work. So much for any knowledge I’d retained from the little bit of video editing I did in college. Also, our version of iMovie is… not the best out there. I seem to recall more options when I was doing some video editing in the aforementioned college days over ten years ago. Jesus, ten years. Yowch.

Enjoy this video of Jackson’s first year alive, some of the highlights and special moments, and frankly, what fit best, was in decent focus and made the cut. Happy Birthday, little man, just one month late.
