New Drawing: “Asssembly.”

by ncwinters on May 28, 2014

New experiments, constant work…

Grinding away on several projects at once, blah blah blah. Nothing new on that end, but this drawing is a bit of an experimental departure as of late, and I’m pleased with how it turned out. I am often forgetting how much my core is based around drawing, rather than painting, and it’s a joy when I can combine the two in ways that satisfy both halves of that visual medium. I’m enjoying exploring the different ways the acrylic inks interact with the paper, in addition to various methods of layering it over a drawing, reworking a drawing, going back and forth, etc. I hope to have more in this vein for the future. For now, enjoy “Assembly.” Thanks for looking!

Moving right along!

Busy days, with much to do, due to a short week. Today I’ll be taking a break from the studio, but here’s another small painting for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

New Painting: “Natural Parcel.”

by ncwinters on May 19, 2014

Craziness lately.

We survived Firestorm2014 as it was not so affectionately named. Yes, fire season came early this year, and we found ourselves surrounded at one time by ten (count ’em: 10!) concurrent fires at it’s most hectic last week. The last of the fires are getting put out, and life is getting back to normal. Not a fan of fire season, and it technically hasn’t even begun. This summer may prove…stressful.

But as life gets back to normal, I’ve got some new paintings that are getting wrapped up while so many things are getting worked on behind the scenes. I just can’t show too much yet, but this will, suffice to say, be my biggest art year yet. Stay tuned. In the meantimes, enjoy “Natural Parcel.”
