New print, new year!
Happy 2020 everyone! I think this one’s gonna have a lot in store–I just hit the 40-year mark in this game of life, and I’m amped to push into all kinds of creative new directions. To kick it off, I’m dropping an art print version of my recent Umphrey’s McGee gig poster, in a brand new colorway, along with some super limited special stocks. Special thanks to the crew at End Hymns for once again just nailing the printing on these, I’m extremely happy with how they turned out.
The prints are seven color screenprints on Cougar 100# natural stock, with a select limited number on silver, rainbow, and brushed gold foil (with a few others that will be saved for another day). The foils are almost impossible to photograph, and are really exceptional in person. There will be a strict limit of one foil of each colorway per person, so you can try and get a full set of all of them if you like (good luck!) but not more than one of each kind. There are a total of four colorways, three from the Umphrey’s run, as well as a new version featuring a teal sky and pink tones throughout. Once again, I’m very happy with the final printing quality. I cannot emphasize enough how much of screenprinting is truly a collaboration between the artist and screenprinter, and I’m fortunate to work with several printers who really know their stuff.
As always, to get the exact drop time for the print release, you’ll need to be signed up to my online newsletter. The social media landscape continues to evolve and change how it’s structured, and seems unreliable at best to try and get information out to the world. My personal mailing list is my lifeline to get the best information directly to you, and comes with the added bonus of the exact drop time, as print drops often sell out quickly. Before I get to the prints, I wanted to mention that I recently had a small painting in a group show at Visual Gallery in downtown San Diego, curated by good friend and solid artist Jorge Gutierrez. All works are in the 6″ x 6″ format, and it was fun to get my hand back in the paint. Here’s my painting for the show: “Reveal from Hollow.” Not sure if it’s still available, please contact the gallery for availability.
