Post-DesignerCon Drop!

Another DesignerCon has come and gone, and was an overall excellent experience.

Special thanks to my booth partner, Jim Mazza for teaming up with me, to share resources and space while we hawked our wares to excited patrons. Always a blast hanging out with you my friend. Additionally, the convention wouldn’t have been possible without the assistance from friends Adrian and Chris. Both gentlemen were completely on top of it: taking orders, rolling prints, keeping us fed and overall keeping the artists on top of their game. The convention would have been a very different experience and way less fun without those two. All told the whole group of four: the Steak Bois made the convention something special. They all together really were the clam’s garters, they were indeed truly: the cat’s ass. (You just had to be there).

My post-convention wares will drop this coming Wednesday, November 30 at a random time. As always, be sure you’re signed up to the newsletter for the exact drop time. There are still several original paintings, and I’ve held onto several copies of my exclusive print releases, so there is still much available. But still, don’t snooze on the drop, you’ve been warned!

How is it already that time again? Yes, DesignerCon is upon us once again. This year seems to have gone by in a flash, but there’s still one last convention on my docket, and it’s my favorite one to boot. Normally I shill my wares from the usual double booth, but this year I’m teaming up with Jim Mazza and we’re taking over three full booths in a lucky “7” formation: booth #1015. Very exciting!

As usual, I’m bringing some exclusives as well as rarities from sold out runs. Because the live painting/auction was so successful at SDCC, I’ve decided to try it again. I’ll be hand embellishing a rare print which will go up for auction near the end of the convention. Keep an eye on the booth as well as my Facebook and Instagram for details as that evolves, most likely in a sloppy ad hoc manner.

Next is something new that I’m really excited about. It’s a shiny, fancy new print on holographic rainbow foil with all kinds of cool stuff going on. The print is on matte foil with multiple layers of spot gloss varnish that both enhance the iridescent foil as well as add some pretty wild raised texture in the scales. While I hate to be trite, pictures truly do not do this justice. This print really has to be seen in person to get the full effect. “Chroma Lizardo” comes in three colorways: “Emerald,” “Ruby,” and “Lapis.” Prints are 9″ x 12,” and hand signed and numbered in a limited edition of 50, $60 each. Limit two of each colorway per person.

Each original painting is float-mounted in a hand painted, collaged shadow box. Note that this is just a sampling, I’ll keep painting up until (and let’s face it, probably AFTER) the show opens. DesignerCon has come and gone, and while it was definitely more surreal than usual due to Covid, it was still a great success, and a joy to see so many of my favorite people again. Thank you to everyone who came by, purchased something, or just had some nice conversation. It was great to be out there.

As promised, the remainders and pieces held back from the convention will all go up online for sale. The online sale is tomorrow, November 18 at a random time.
