It still seems surreal to even say: that DesignerCon is back (and in four days no less!) and that I’ll be attending again. It’ll be my first convention in two years, since last DCon in 2019. Seems like a lifetime ago. The world has changed so much since my last convention prep. The old motions feel familiar: finish up painting small originals, sign and number prints, bag up sticker packs, etc. But at the same time, it also feels completely different. All we can do is move forward and do the best we can on into the future!
*My* near future at DesignerCon consists of slinging art in booth #1013 in the Anaheim Convention Center. The show runs from Friday, November 12 (VIP night) through Sunday, November 14. I will once again be joined by my comrade in arms and artist extraordinare Jim Mazza, who will be on hand to assist and help sling art, as I inevitably get distracted and fall into talking too much with conventioneers.
I’m bringing SEVERAL exclusives to the show this year, listed in full detail down below. But first, I’ve put together a list of ground rules to try and keep everything a little more organized and tidy this year.

There are absolutely no holds or preorders for any items for the show.
I will not hold anything aside for anyone nor sell anything before the opening bell on VIP night. No exceptions. Please refrain from contacting me with any similar such requests, the answer is a polite “no.”
Each exclusive has strict limits per person/household.
I understand many people “poster buddy” (PB) to make purchases on behalf of others who don’t attend the convention, and I think that’s super cool. However, I have to also balance inventory for those actually attending the convention as well, so there will be limits in place on how many of each item can be purchased. The one exception to this will be a “Last Chance” option during the final hour and a half of the last day (Sunday, November 14 3:30PM). If you’ve already purchased your limit of exclusives, and there is DesignerCon-exclusive inventory left available, you’ll be allowed to purchase ONE additional allotment per person/ item/ household but only at 3:30PM on the last day.
The strict limits per buyer/household are non-negotiable and will also be listed onsite at the booth. The full release schedule is listed just below. Specific purchase limits are listed further below for each individual specific item.

I will not be taking any personal commissions this year.
Every year I fail to effectively manage my time with commissions and end up in the weeds, often working to finish them up in the hotel after hours. So this year I have set up specific times where I will be live painting and drawing according to my current creative aesthetic. As I complete various paintings and drawings, they’ll be available afterwards in an auction-style event where buyers are welcome to bid on each piece. No holds or “dibs” will be available, just each piece going to the highest bidder with a reserve starting price of $100. No requests of subject matter or personal commissions will be available: it’ll just be me, doing my own thing, working on whatever topic spins off the creative dome.
No holds or presales on remaining exclusives post-convention.
All remaining works will go up in the online shop after the show.
Similar to previous years, I’ll be holding back a very limited stack of exclusives for those not in attendance at the show for the chance to purchase post-convention through the online shop. These, as well as any remaining unsold originals or convention rarities will go up in a sale later, with exact drop time and full details sent out after I’ve returned home.
Once again, no holds, “dibs” or preorders before the sale.

So many brand new pieces will be available at the convention! Let’s see, right off the bat, I’ve got a brand new giclée art print I’m pretty proud of: “Witness,” available in two colorways. Speaking of colorways, I’ll also have my artist variant colorways of my recent “311 at Camden, New Jersey” gig poster. Grab your bug nets, because I’ve also got some new freshly caught Lepidoptera: Lepidoptera 8: “Mycelium” and “Lepidoptera 9: “Viper,” once again both sold together as a set containing both prints. I’ve also recently been able to finally make some time for drawing and painting again, and will be bringing several small original paintings, hand-embellished prints and embellished gig posters. Can’t forget the slaps! I’ll have sticker packs and even a few leftover “Pale Rider” oversize chameleon stickers, as well as a fresh new robot sticker from Sticker Robot, in addition to a few other surprises.
It’s gonna be a wild ride, I’m excited to see so many faces I can usually only see maybe once a year, and now it’s been two, not to mention during a global pandemic. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little anxious, but I know we’ll all do whatever we can to all be as safe as possible. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone again and being back at DesignerCon.
