Hey look, it’s 2023.
Where did the time go? No, seriously, can anyone tell me? Another year, another rotation around the sun. Another January, full of promise and opportunity. To kick it off, here’s something I’ve been working on for awhile finally and ready to release out into the world.
“Madness Revealed” is the first print of many slated to release for the Year of the Rabbit. This declaration is both exciting and nerve-wracking, as it forces me to wrap up many of the projects that have been puttering about in limbo: half started, half finished, however you want to look at it. I’ve got my very first employee on staff, and a strong sense of forward-momentum that I hope lasts, as I’m shooting to make this year a big one.
Where was I? Oh yeah:
“Madness Revealed” is the reworked art print version of an image I created for a Primus gig, back in 2018. That feels like a good 13 years ago by my Covid-math. Since then I’ve tweaked elements of the image, adjusted the tonal range, finessed the colors a bit more, and other parts of the boring alchemy that goes into the creation of an image for screenprint. Needless to say, I’m happy with the results.
Printed once again by the crack team at DL Screenprinting, I’m continually grateful for their commitment to printing excellence. I didn’t give a lot of room in regards to plate registration for this print, and they still managed to nail it, without the whole image turning into a blurry mess. Kudos to Steve and the rest of his team for top notch execution. The prints come in three colorways: “Main,” “Vintage” and “Midnight” in various edition sizes/prices. Full details below.
In addition to the new art print, there will also be a new sticker pack available. Lepidoptera 6–10 Pack o’ Stickers is a collection of five stickers: one of each of Lepidoptera 6–10, in a similar format to the previous Lepidoptera Sticker pack (1–5). Thanks to the automatons at Sticker Robot for the phenomenal printing, their high quality screenprinted vinyl stickers have to be seen and held in person to be truly appreciated. Always a joy and an easy going production process working with them. Full details below.
