How is it already that time again? Yes, DesignerCon<\/a> is upon us once again. This year seems to have gone by in a flash, but there’s still one last convention on my docket, and it’s my favorite one to boot. Normally I shill my wares from the usual double booth, but this year I’m teaming up with Jim Mazza<\/a> and we’re taking over three full booths in a lucky “7” formation: booth #1015<\/strong>. Very exciting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As usual, I’m bringing some exclusives as well as rarities from sold out runs. Because the live painting\/auction was so successful at SDCC, I’ve decided to try it again. I’ll be hand embellishing a rare print which will go up for auction near the end of the convention. Keep an eye on the booth as well as my Facebook<\/a> and Instagram<\/a> for details as that evolves, most likely in a sloppy ad hoc manner.
On to the goods!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

First up is the next two Lepidoptera: 16 & 17 (holy hell, how are we up to 17 already?<\/em>). They’ll be available in the usual format: a matched number set, available for $90, limit two sets per person. Had fun with these, especially the scaly texture of “Reptile.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next is something new that I’m really excited about. It’s a shiny, fancy new print on holographic rainbow foil with all kinds of cool stuff going on. The print is on matte foil with multiple layers of spot gloss varnish that both enhance the iridescent foil as well as add some pretty wild raised texture in the scales. While I hate to be trite, pictures truly do not do this justice. This print really has to be seen in person to get the full effect. “Chroma Lizardo”<\/strong> comes in three colorways: “Emerald,” “Ruby,” and “Lapis.” Prints are 9″ x 12,” and hand signed and numbered in a limited edition of 50, $60 each. Limit two of each colorway per person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the printed goods, I’ll have a slew of small framed original beetle paintings available. A whole set was captured and framed up for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. Each original painting is float-mounted in a hand painted, collaged shadow box. Note that this is just a sampling, I’ll keep painting up until (and let’s face it, probably AFTER) the show opens.
